The Scope
Refurbish and upgrade an aged facility incorporating a fixed mesh net cage running 60m x 30m divided in to three areas, used mainly for football and some netball activities.
The facility wanted to maintain the football and netball capability but on occasions needed to open up the complete area and use the facility for events such as Weddings, Boxing Competitions and Sales Events.
The Project
The old netting was dismantled, and the old vinyl floor removed. The perimeter walls were installed with fixed rebound boards up to a height of 2m. The remaining exposed wall face being covered with fixed solid blue backdrop curtain.
The floor surface was re-laid with Sports Pulastic Floor covering and court markings applied.
We then installed a fixed rebound board run 60m long combined with a 6m high retractable spectator mesh net to provide a protected viewing area the full length of the facility.
Portable rebound boards were positioned in two equally spaced locations whilst above ran a 6m mesh net curtain.
The Outcome
Because all the sports capability was retractable or removable, the facility could accommodate, provide, and hold both sport and hospitality events.
